FIS Delegates' Survey
EcoHydra distributed samples of our Instant Hand Sanitiser to delegates at the Federation of Infection Societies Conference held in November 2007. In January 2008, we asked the delegates how they liked the product.
Delegates responding to the survey were positive about the product. The results are as follows:
- 90% like the feel
- 90% found it kind to skin
- 90% liked it as much as, or more than alcohol gels
- 100% found the website and technical data gave confidence in the efficacy of the product.
The winner of the bottle of champagne for participating in the survey was: Dr. P. Collini. CONGRATULATIONS!
BMJ article on dangers of alcohol based products; "Alcohol handrubs hygiene and hazard"
Using alcohol based handrubs in a clinical setting is hazardous, as noted in recent research from Guy's and St Thomas' hospital records. The article reviews the hazards associated with patients ingesting the alcohol products, with serious side effects. Incidence of ingestion has increased by 314% in adults in hospital and care home settings since the implementation of the use of alcohol gel products for hand hygiene purposes. EcoHydra's products do not contain alcohol and are therefore safe to use in a patient setting. Welcome to EcoHydra; the home of a new generation of alcohol free antimicrobial skincare incorporating our unique BASE Technology.
Developed to the highest standards for use in demanding clinical, healthcare and hygiene reliant environments, our self complimenting range of antimicrobial hand sanitiser, handwash, barrier cream and hand lotion provides a complete solution to hand hygiene.
Targeted directly at improving hand hygiene in every situation, EcoHydra is used in hospitals, homes, schools and space stations combating the increase of healthcare associated infections (as reported by the World Health Organisation) and promoting better hand hygiene.
Research carried out by the Center for Disease Control and National Audit Office confirm some 9-15% reduction in the passing of germs could be achieved with widespread better hand hygiene; the UK cleanyourhands campaign has set to raise the average compliance for hand hygiene from 28% to 76% in answer to this.
Current alcohol based hand hygiene products are less efficient in use and typically less cost efficient than EcoHydra’s new antimicrobial alcohol-free range of products, whilst the inclusion of moisturising agents for the skin encourage regular use rather than causing irritation and dryness.
Full details of the testing we submitted the EcoHydra range to can be found in our technical data section, and more information on each product in the range appears in the products and FAQ sections or can be gained by contacting a member of our team; we look forward to talking to you.
